Coronavirus is having a dramatic impact on our lives and businesses. It is impacting services throughout the supply chain.
I want to share an update on what FMi is doing to keep our customers and our teams safe while continuing to support the flow of goods.
Our Operations teams are experienced with adapting to changing conditions. We are used to adjusting our processes and implementing contingency plans to address disruptions in the movement of goods. This situation is unprecedented. No one knows exactly how long these disruptions will last.
Some key changes to our contingency planning:
- Temporary and casual labour has been suspended in our warehouses. Core staff follow best practices for self management and risk mitigation.
- We have adjusted our labor teams and scheduling to accommodate self-isolation absences and to minimize transmission risks.
- We have implemented a ride share program for confirmed healthy team members to eliminate exposure to public transit.
- We have reduced the volumes and throughput from our facilities to minimize risk of wider customer network disruptions.
