Shortage of Commercial Warehouse Space in Calgary

A recent phenomenon in the city of Calgary and surrounding region is the shortage of available commercial warehouse space. We all know of the availability of office space, and the commercial construction boom over the last few years would have led us to believe that there would be plenty of available space.

But as we move into 2021, we are seeing the exact opposite. While our year of COVID and the increase of on-line shopping does have something to do with it, this also speaks to how Calgary is increasingly becoming a hub for the supply chains of major retailers.

Western Canadian consumers are buying more consumable goods than ever before, and Calgary is poised to take advantage this new trend.
